From your first class you will be shown useful and effective self defence techniques, and straight away you will be asked to start making and developing your own self defence plan... We call it "owned techniques". Your OTs are a set of Krav Maga techniques in a combination that you decide upon with assistance from the instructor. This is a smart way of training, as you have to pick techniques that work for you at your skills level and address your fears of potential attacks. (There are rules in how to choose and design your OTs, but that will be explained to you when you attend classes).
In almost every class you will be asked to work on your OTs, building up quick reactions to the attacks that you feel are most likely to occur to you and dealing with them effectively with the skills you have learnt. Very quickly these 3 combinations will become fluent and natural reactions to your perceived threat, and become the foundation of your self defence plan.
