Although the roots of this system are born in the 1980s, this close range combat style was made famous by the recent Batman movies when rumours circulated that Keysi was the chosen style for the action scenes. So for a time, it's popularity went up, but of course the fad faded and Keysi quickly sliped out the mainstream with many instructors moving off to join another hybrid called Defence Lab. The KFM style is characterised by it's low stance, twisting motions and tight guard that kind of looks like the practitioner has a headache. It is aggressive and fast, using the need to react while defending from attack. Although limited in application, it is believed to be one of the better forms of immediate self defence training for those in close range environment.
Relationship to Krav Maga
Fast and aggressive, but little in technique carries over between the styles. Keysi only uses the one range, it doesn't have the flexibility that Krav Maga does to deal with different combat styles and distances.
